Kirby and Super Smash Bros. creator Masahiro Sakurai concurs with the hundreds of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 PS5 reviews that shower the game with immense praise. The accomplished developer labeled Insomniac Games‘ latest outing a “masterpiece.”
Masahiro Sakurai reviews both Spider-Man 2 and Super Mario Bros. Wonder
Over on X (formerly Twitter), Sakurai revealed that he knocked out Spider-Man 2 and Super Mario Bros. Wonder within the same weekend. Both games launched last Friday, October 20.
Sakurai thinks it’s a “problem” when two big games that one has an eye on come out at the same time. Nevertheless, he managed to beat both Spider-Man 2 and Super Mario Bros. Wonder last weekend, and says he would recommend playing both masterpieces. “The new games are amazing, and I’m grateful to them for making them,” Sakurai added.
That’s certainly very high praise from a revered developer.
Spider-Man 2 and Super Mario Bros. Wonder both comfortably landed in the top spots in U.K.’s physical game sales charts last week despite being on sale for just a day when charts closed. Spider-Man 2 surprisingly beat Super Mario Bros. Wonder to the top spot despite the latter releasing on a platform with a significantly larger user base.
Digital sales data and U.S. sales charts are not available yet.
