Cyberpunk 2077 Update 1.7

Cyberpunk 2077 Update 1.7 Could Arrive in a Month, Fans Speculate

Fans on Reddit speculate that the much-anticipated Cyberpunk 2077 update 1.7 might be arriving sooner than we think. Based on various changelogs to the game’s Steam database, specifically to the “qa_branch” of the files, some players believe that we might see the patch within a month or two. Though the upcoming 1.7 update has yet to receive an official release date from CD Projekt Red, it will bring substantial changes to the game before the Phantom Liberty DLC.

Cyberpunk 2077 update 1.7 will revamp cop system and add new cyberware

We suggest taking the highly-upvoted Reddit thread in question with a few grains of salt, but it does show that the edits made to game’s changelist were done in quick succession. Still, some users think that this may just be a patch for the DLSS 3.0 update, so guessing that Update 1.7 will be coming out in a month is rather optimistic.

But we do know that this 1.7 patch needs to release in order to lay the groundwork for Phantom Liberty, which still has a vague release window of 2023. As revealed during a special in September 2022, this patch will revamp the cop system including MaxTac, polish vehicle-to-vehicle combat, provide more actions in the perk tree, and add new cyberware.

Also releasing in 2023 will be Cyberpunk 2077 Game of the Year Edition, which will come after the release of Phantom Liberty DLC. At the same time, the multiplayer component of the game has been cancelled due to a poor launch.
