Falcom has released the The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III opening movie just ahead of the role-playing game’s Japanese release date of September 28, 2018. The two-minute video features a gorgeous look at the game’s world, and is definitely worth checking out for fans. The PlayStation 4 exclusive (sorry Vita owners) is currently only slated for a Japanese release, although a localization seems likely considering the past two games came over.

The Cold Steel titles have also managed to sell over a million copies worldwide, which is quite the accomplishment for a smaller Japanese developer:
Falcom has revealed on Twitter that The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel series has sold 1.01 million copies worldwide as of August 31, 2017. The game first released in Japan in September 2013 and its latest entry launched exactly a year later.
Both games also made their way to the West in 2015 and 2016, respectively, garnering positive reviews. PlayStation LifeStyle’s Jowi Girard-Meli praised the original title for XSEED’s “superior localization, which bypasses anime cliches in favor of real depth; an addictive set of life-sim mechanics, from bonding with the lovable cast to cooking a bevy of dishes; and a combat system that rewards customization and cooperation between party members.”
The Legend of Heroes: Cold Steel III has not been announced for an English localization yet. Cold Steel III releases September 28 in Japan exclusively for the PlayStation 4, which has led to some fans being upset that it isn’t coming to PlayStation Vita.
