Leaked on Thursday by Taiwan’s PlayStation Store, Yakuza Kiwami 2 has now officially been announced for the PlayStation 4.
As previously revealed, the upcoming release is a remake of Yakuza 2 and is powered by Yakuza 6: The Song of Life‘s Dragon Engine. Additional details provided by SEGA today during a livestream event can be found below (as reported by Gematsu):
- Yakuza Kiwami 2 features an additional “Truth of Majima Goro” scenario in which Majima Goro is playable.
- The game includes a “large number” of stories that haven’t been told before.
- Expect a new cast of voice actors including Hakuryu as Ryo Takashima, Susumu Terajima as Jiro Kawara, Houka Kinoshita as Wataru Kurahashi, and Yuichi Kimura as Tsutomu Bessho.
- Japanese band SiM will be working on the theme song.
Yakuza Kiwami 2 will release in Japan on December 7 for 7,590 yen. There will also be a limited edition priced at 11,590 yen. A Western release has yet to be announced but if the recent release of Yakuza Kiwami is any indication then expect this one to release abroad as well.
