“To ensure the best experience for console players,” 2K and Firaxis Games have decided to delay the War of the Chosen DLC for XCOM 2 until September 12 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The PC version will still launch on August 29.
XCOM 2: War of the Chosen is now up for pre-order on the PlayStation Store (North America, Europe), priced at $39.99 USD/£34.99. The listing says XCOM 2 patch 1.04 or later is required to play it, and you’ll need at least 30GB of space.
If you don’t own XCOM 2 on PS4 yet, it’s $29.99 USD (50% off) on the North American PlayStation Store and £11.99 (72% off) on the EU PS Store. Those in North America can also grab XCOM 2 for $20 as part of the 2K PlayStation Humble Bundle, which also includes Evolve, Battleborn VC, and more.
Here’s the description for War of the Chosen:
XCOM 2: War of the Chosen adds extensive new content in the fight against ADVENT when additional resistance factions form in order to eliminate the alien threat on Earth. In response, a new enemy, known as the ‘Chosen’, emerges with one goal: recapture the Commander. This expansion includes new Hero classes to counter the ‘Chosen’, new enemies, missions, environments and increased depth in strategic gameplay.
We reviewed XCOM 2 for PS4 last year and said, “Great strategy games are few and far between, and XCOM 2 is an absolute treat for anyone craving a challenge on every level.”
