FuturLab’s PSVR Racing Title Tiny Trax Releases Next Week

Velocity 2X and Surge Deluxe developer FuturLab has been working on a PlayStation VR game, and it’s set to release next week. The latest game from the UK-based studio is called Tiny Trax, and will let players get a unique view of virtual slot-car racing. The developer’s first 3D game is set to release July 25 exclusively for PlayStation VR, and will support online multiplayer. Players can choose to race alongside three other friends while using the game’s six different vehicles.

Here’s how designer Dave Gabriel described the game over at the PlayStation Blog in May:

We’ve taken the slot-car format made popular by Scalextric and Carrera, and pumped it up a few notches!

Adding lane-switching, boost and a super-smooth drifting mechanic to recharge your boost gauge, Tiny Trax expands the slot-car experience by introducing a whole new set of skills to wrap your thumbs around. We’ll even put your car back on the track if you overcook a corner! Steer your car as if it were radio controlled, zipping along walls, dunking underwater, flying overhead, and looping upside-down through ice-caves and space stations!

Tiny Trax releases exclusively on PlayStation VR on July 25. There will be a first week 10% discount for PlayStation Plus members in Europe and United States. It’s currently up for pre-order on the UK version of the PlayStation Store, so if you’re already sold on the game you can give the fine folk over at FuturLab your money.
