Microsoft Confident Xbox Scorpio “Will Be the Very Best Console Version of Games This Year”

Microsoft’s Project Scorpio launches this fall, and Phil Spencer, Head of Xbox, is confident that developers will be able to take advantage of the new hardware with their games releasing this year.

In response to someone who asked if games like Destiny 2 and Call of Duty: WWII will look better on Xbox Scorpio, Spencer said:

Project Scorpio is set to be fully unveiled at E3 2017. Until it’s released, it looks like Sony will continue to tout the PlayStation 4 Pro as the world’s most powerful console:

Asked if he was concerned about all the marketing deals Sony has with third-party games, Spencer said, “It’s all just business. We have a long term vision for Xbox and we are building towards that. Marketing deals are great but not the strategy.”

He then added:

Today also saw the early access release of Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass, which is a $9.99 USD per month subscription service that lets owners access over 100 Xbox One and Xbox 360 games (full list). After looking at fan feedback regarding streaming, Microsoft decided to make their subscription service download-based.
