Update 2 (April 12): The disabled features are now back online, Blizzard says.
Update: Due to issues with the update, Blizzard has temporarily disabled these features on PS4, Xbox One, and PC:
Custom Game saves
3v3 Elimination
6v6 Capture the Flag
We don’t have an ETA for when the technical issues will be resolved and these features re-enabled, but will provide updates in this thread as they become available.
Original Story: Leaked yesterday, Blizzard has confirmed that the new Overwatch event is called Uprising, and it runs from today until May 1. To access Uprising, you’ll need to download the new Overwatch update, which is live on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
Here’s what Blizzard says about Uprising:
For a limited time, we’re rewinding the future and giving you the chance to relive history in our latest in-game event: Overwatch Uprising! Join Tracer on her very first mission in a new cooperative brawl and unlock pieces of the past with over 100 themed Loot Box items – including skins, highlight intros, emotes, sprays, and more.
Relive Tracer’s First Mission
Journey seven years into the past and join a group of Overwatch agents fighting through the streets of King’s Row to quell an uprising led by Null Sector, a rogue group of omnics. Team up with your friends and play as Tracer, Torbjörn, Reinhardt, or Mercy to defeat the robots and liberate the city. There are no reinforcements. Failure is not an option. The future depends on you.
As the Uprising events page shows, there’s 10 new skins, three new highlight intros (My Baby, Selfie, Perspective), and three new emotes (Training, Push-Ups, Flair).
Once you’ve unlocked an Uprising item, you’ll get to keep it even after the event ends on May 1.
