With Episode 1 set to premiere on December 20, Telltale Games unveiled a new trailer for The Walking Dead: A New Frontier today at The Game Awards. They also announced that Episode 1 and Episode 2, titled The Ties That Bind Part 1 and The Ties That Bind Part 2, will both be available on December 20 for PS4 and Xbox One, but a PS3 and Xbox 360 release date is TBD.
The trailer’s description says, “In this first look at The Walking Dead: A New Frontier, we meet Javier. We witness how the beginning of the zombie plague affected him and his family before we move forward in time to years later, where he encounters a very familiar face…”
Telltale Games was asked today on Twitter about what to do if your The Walking Dead save file is on a different console. “Fresh players can head straight to a new story. S1/S2 players will have multiple save import options,” they replied. “More details on that soon!”
Telltale’s Job J Stauffer added, “Not just import, but also quick-create a tailored backstory that matches your own if you can’t find your original save. More details soon!” and “on top of that – a default path option that will welcome players completely new to the series. Really guys – more info soon. Promise!”
By pre-ordering the complete season through the PlayStation Store, you’ll receive The Walking Dead Season 2 and The Walking Dead: Michonne as a free bonus. If you’d prefer to own A New Frontier physically, the Season Pass Disc will now be available on February 14, 2017.
