Those who got their hopes up for a Mass Effect Trilogy remaster when EA’s Patrick Soderlund recently said that the company is “actively looking at remasters,” might want to reconsider. In a new interview with IGN, Peter Moore has said that the company just wants to move forward and focus on Andromeda.
When specifically asked about the trilogy considering fan demand, Moore replied:
Could we make an easy buck on remastering Mass Effect? Yes. Have a thousand people asked me that? Yes, they have. Do we have… No.”
We just feel like we want to go forward. There’s a little thing called Mass Effect Andromeda that we’re totally focused on at BioWare, and it’s going to be magnificent.
Moore also said that EA doesn’t have any teams “lying around that are doing nothing right now” and that he doesn’t want the developers to be distracted from Andromeda.
Mass Effect Andromeda will release in 2017 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
