Featured in the current Big in Japan sale, Dragon’s Crown isn’t actually available on the European PlayStation Store, with NIS America in Europe first saying that their license expired and it needed to be removed.
In a follow-up statement though, NIS America explained that the removal was due to a mutual agreement between themselves and Atlus, and Dragon’s Crown will return:
With regards to our previous statements on Dragon’s Crown for the European PSN, we must extend our deepest apologies to Atlus and European fans regarding the incorrect information about the removal from this store.
The removal of Dragon’s Crown from the European PSN was part of NIS America’s and Atlus’s mutual agreement on this title. We are happy to announce that Dragon’s Crown will be available directly from Atlus in Europe through PSN.
Please look forward to Dragon’s Crown returning to the European PSN soon.
If you already own a digital copy of Dragon’s Crown on PlayStation 3 or PlayStation Vita, you’re still able to play and download it.
NIS America also confirmed that, since their contract with Dragon’s Crown has ended, they’ll no longer be printing physical copies in Europe. It remains to be seen if Atlus will re-issue the game physically in Europe.
Earlier this year, NIS America ended their alliance with Atlus.
