E3 2016 – Skyrim Special Edition Screenshots, Bethesda Talks Mods

Announced last night, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on October 28 for $59.99 USD. In the gallery below, you can check out some screenshots, as well as the box art and a PS3 vs PS4 comparison.

Along with all of the add-ons – Dawnguard, Dragonborn, and Hearthfire – the Skyrim Special Edition includes remastered art and effects, volumetric god rays, dynamic depth of field, screen-space reflections, and more. You’ll also find “the full power of PC mods” on PS4 and Xbox One, giving access to new quests, environments, characters, dialogue, armor, weapons, and more.

Here’s what Bethesda said about mods:

Like Fallout 4, you can browse and search for the latest and greatest Skyrim Mods, choose your favorites, post feedback, and install them – all from within the game. Simply select Mods from the Skyrim main menu, and start browsing. You can also browse through Skyrim mods online on Bethesda.net.

For Steam users, if you’ve already purchased Skyrim and all its add-ons or own Legendary Edition, Bethesda says “you’ll get a free upgrade to Skyrim Special Edition on Oct 28.”
