Rolling out on PlayStation 4 in Europe right now, with a North American PS4, Xbox One, and PC release on Thursday/Friday, Just Cause 3 update 1.02 is 132MB.
Using community feedback to help prioritize the fixes in Just Cause 3, developer Avalanche says, “We know many of you have been patiently awaiting today’s patch, and this update is part of a much larger plan to optimize and improve the game.”
Here’s the full list of patch notes for Just Cause 3 update 1.02:
Significantly improved loading times
Optimizations to online stats
General stability fixes
Fixed an issue related to challenges, wherein vehicles sometimes disappeared when starting a challenge
(PC) Fixed issues related to screen resizing and closing the game window before the game has fully started up
As for other issues raised by the community, Avalanche offered some tips, saying you can skip cutscenes by holding down B (likely circle on PS4) on your gamepad, or hitting Skip from the pause menu. Additionally, there’s no sprint button because the dev team wanted you using the grapple to traverse Medici, while also experiencing the game’s verticality.
Meanwhile, the lack of a crouch button is because getting Rico up in the air “is our version of the cover mechanic.” It’s where he’s more deadly.
As for finding the Last Chaos object, Avalanche said, “While there’s no mini-map to help you liberate bases and towns, you can always bring up your map to help find Chaos objects. When you’re down to the last few objects in any given settlement, an approximate location for these will be displayed on the map.”
