As part of their Paris Games Week showing, developer Heavy Spectrum brought a new trailer for Shadow of the Beast, which is “a hyper violent next-gen adventure” coming to PlayStation 4.
Heavy Spectrum CEO and Founder Matt Birch hopes fans of the original Shadow of the Beast in 1989 from Psygnosis will “spot a few nods to familiar locations, and also some new things to make the return to Karamoon an exciting prospect!”
Talking a bit about their progress right now, Birch says they’ve received lots of feedback from the previous demo available at various events, and are working out how best to improve the game. He adds:
To that end, we’ve been iterating and tweaking our combat system further, as well as making adjustments to help the platforming flow better. We’re trying our best to make sure that the combat in particular has layers to discover and that truly mastering the game is going to be something players can enjoy doing as they uncover the secrets of Aarbron’s world.
According to the PlayStation Store, which has been known to be wrong on multiple occasions, Shadow of the Beast will release in Europe on January 29, 2016. What we do know is that it will cost £15.99, which typically equates to $19.99 USD.
Stay tuned for official confirmation from the developers as it arrives.
