Previously scheduled to arrive on July 28 in Europe on PlayStation 4 through the PlayStation Store, Bandai Namco announced today that Sword Art Online Re: Hollow Fragment is now releasing one week later on August 4 “to ensure it is as best as possible.”
Asked about whether this affects the North American launch on July 28, Bandai Namco UK said, “As far as we’re aware, it is still on track for the original release date in US.”
Here’s the description for Hollow Fragment:
In Sword Art Online Re: Hollow Fragment, players will play as the main character, Kirito, and fight through all the levels of Aincrad to break free from being locked within the virtual game world.
Players with save data from the PlayStation Vita version of the game on will be pleased to learn that some items from that game will be transferrable to the PlayStation 4; additionally DLC from the PlayStation Vita title will be unlockable on the PlayStation 4 at a later date.
As for the next game in the franchise, Sword Art Online: Lost Song, a pre-order will go live for the game in North America on July 28, ahead of its release in Fall 2015 on PS4 and PS Vita.
