Starlight Tactics Announced for PS4, PS Vita Version is Pending Unity Engine Support

Developer Escape Hatch Entertainment (Starlight Inception) has officially announced that they’re making Starlight Tactics, which is set for release in 2015 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Mac, Linux, iOS, and Android. A PlayStation Vita release could happen, but that’s “pending Unity 4.6 or 5.0 engine support.”

Described as an “upcoming turn-based tactical space combat game in which you assume the role of Commander in a conflict which spans our star system,” Starlight Tactics sees you re-entering our star system 100 years from tomorrow, where World War IV has begun.

Garry Gaber, President and CCO of Escape Hatch, had this to say:

Tactics promises to be something new and original – a game set in the Starlight universe that takes place at the capital ship level – players will be able to control both United Star Force and Non-Aligned Nations Destroyers, Cruisers and Carriers in two full campaigns. We have a skirmish mode as well for players who just want to quickly jump into the action.

Escape hatch VP Melissa Gaber added:

Starlight Tactics is designed to be cross-platform from the ground up, using the Unity Game Engine. It allows us the freedom to deliver this game on multiple platforms while sharing the same codebase and much of the same art and UI elements. Both hardcore and casual gamers should find a really rich experience no matter what platform they choose to play.

If you’ve yet to play Starlight Inception, it’s coming to the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.
