General News

  • Contrary to early reports, YouTube (Google) doesn’t appear close to buying Twitch for $1 billion. However, the latest reports are that both sides are working on a deal right now that’s in its early stages, and a purchase price is unknown at the moment. With Twitch being such a huge part of the new consoles, we’ll let you know of any developments in this potential deal. [Via, Source 1, 2]
  • Target USA is offering triple the trade-in value on games this week (maximum 3 games per person), but after a day of crazy values on Sunday, Target appears to have lowered their TIVs today. [Via, More Info]

  • Reminding us when we can expect the game, Sony has said that Helldivers will release for the PS4, PS3, and PS Vita this summer. As a bonus, Cross Play is planned. [Source]
  • While Wolfenstein PS4 should be available to download early tomorrow through the PlayStation Store in North America, Transistor won’t show up until the usual 2PM PT/5PM ET. [Twitter]
  • Devolver Digital said, “Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition is being submitted for certification on PS3 and Vita this week – we’ll keep you all posted on news!” Provided there’s no bugs and it passes, we could be getting the game late this month/early next month. Stay tuned. [Twitter]
  • The Spelunky Twitter account issued this when talking about the recent patch 1.03: “Unfortunately, Friday’s PSN update (1.03) introduces a crash bug when entering the Black Market. A new patch will go up ASAP to fix it. A clarification about the PSN 1.03 update crash: active (freed/bought) Hired Hands and coffin buddies appear to be the cause. Aggroing shopkeepers will free the Hired Hands immediately, which is why the crash is likely in the B. Market if shopkeepers are mad.   • During his Reddit AMA today, Tony Hawk said, “There is a CHANCE of something in the future for newer consoles.” Also, “my favorite is THPS2 because it put skateboarding on the map as a videogame genre and many people have said it is the reason they started skating at all.” I still wouldn’t get my hopes up about new game quite yet though.
