Over the weekend, the Canadian Video Game Awards were held in Vancouver, with Elias Toufexis (Deus Ex: Human Revolution) taking over hosting duties from David Hayter (Snaaaaaaaake).
It was a far cry from an evenly distributed awards show as Far Cry 3, and a couple other ‘3’s’, took home the majority of the honours:
- Game of the Year – Far Cry 3
- Future Shop Fans’ Choice Award – Far Cry 3
- Best Animation – Far Cry 3
- Best Game Design – Far Cry 3
- Best Visual Arts – Far Cry 3
- Best New Character – Vaas (Far Cry 3)
- Best Writing – Mass Effect 3
- Best Console Game – Mass Effect 3
- Best Original Music – Leaving Earth (Mass Effect 3)
- Best Audio – Assassin’s Creed III
- Best Technology – Assassin’s Creed III
- Best Game Innovation – Sound Shapes
- Best Game on the Go – Sound Shapes
- Best Indie Game – Mark of the Ninja
- Best Downloadable Game – Mark of the Ninja
- Best Social/Casual Game – The Secret World
