After acquiring THQ Montreal and the publishing rights to South Park: The Stick of Truth today during the THQ auction, Ubisoft Montreal President Yannis Mallat had this to say:
This deal adds experienced developers to our internal creative teams at a key moment in the cycle of the video game industry.
While previously dated for March 5th, then delayed, Ubisoft has now said that we can expect South Park: The Stick of Truth in “calendar 2013.” Since that date is extremely vague, we’ll keep you updated on all future news regarding South Park.
Along with the THQ Montreal purchase and rights to The Stick of Truth, it’s also been revealed that Ubisoft acquires “a new, yet-to-be announced IP in development at the studio.” Like South Park, we’ll keep you up to speed on all news about that mysterious new IP.
