The father of the Gran Turismo series has commented about GT6 and a possible Vita installment. He also briefly mentioned mod support.
Impress Watch (via Andriasang) reports that Kazunori Yamauchi was flown in for a Gran Turismo 5 event at the China Joy game event in Beijing. While there, Yamauchi answered some questions about future Gran Turismo games.
Yamauchi said that he has been working on the framework for Gran Turismo 6 since after the completion of Gran Turismo 5, and further commented that Polyphony Digital is always looking for “the latest technology and the latest expression.”
When asked if a PlayStation Vita version of the long-running racing franchise was possible, Yamauchi responded that if GT Vita were to be made, Polyphony would want to “make use” of the ability of the game to be played anywhere, as well as the ability to access 3G at any time.
Finally, when asked about the possible inclusion of mod support in GT5, he said that if a good balance could be found, the team would like to increase the areas where users can make modifications.
Mod support could be the the kind of feature that could add more replay value to Gran Turismo games., so would you like to see mod support for GT games? What kinds of features would you like to see in GT6 or a potential Vita installment of GT?
