Fire Hose Games Talks About Development of Slam Bolt Scrappers

Fire Hose Games is a brand new development studio that released their first title, Slam Bolt Scrappers, back in March of this year. It received mixed reviews from critics and was scored 6/10 here on PlayStation LifeStyle. Even worse for Fire Hose Games, the PSN went down 3 weeks after the game launched and halted all sales. Eitan Glinert, president of Fire Hose Games, spoke recently about Slam Bolt Scrappers to an audience of east coast developers.

Every month there is a meet-up in Boston for game developers to talk about their games and share processes with each other. Fire Hose Games gave a talk at this month’s meeting about their game, Slam Bolt Scrappers, and put a video of their talk up on their website. The chat is almost an hour long, but it offers a great look into the mind of the developer, and there’s some interesting information shared throughout the video. Eitan Glinert takes the stage to talk about all the mistakes they made with Slam Bolt Scrappers, as well as everything they thought was beneficial to their development cycle. Glinert covers everything from the lack of online multiplayer, to their game engine, to gameplay, and even the local development community around Boston.

Without further ado, here’s the video:

If you manage to sit through the entire video, or stay long enough to catch some interesting pieces, feel free to share what you learned in the comments below.
