Speculation regarding the next iteration of the popular Hitman series has been ongoing ever since Hitman: Blood Money was released back in 2006, with little news on the game other than a piece of early artwork being supposedly leaked. Now, the voice behind Agent 47 in the franchise has spoken up about Hitman 5.
David Bateson – the man who voiced the game’s Agent 47 – has spoken about the series as a whole and lets loose a few details about the yet-to-be-officially-announced Hitman 5. TGL quizzed Bateson on the next installment in the long running franchise and he replied:
“I have to plead the 5th Amendment on this one. I am under contract not to say anything. There have been delays. However, like I said earlier, if the artwork is anything to go by… brace yourself. In all the years of Hitman, I have been overwhelmingly gratified and humbled by the sheer dedication to the Hitman franchise that the fans have expressed.
For all the kind things that have been said, I am truly thankful. That kind of dedication and appreciation of the game deserves repayment… with an even more gob smacking instalment in Hitman 5. I don’t envy IO Interactive for the pressure they must under to deliver. I am utterly convinced they will.”
Insiders have touted Hitman 5 to be released during the winter of 2011. A long wait, indeed. However, if the quality delivered by previous Hitman titles are anything to go by, then I’d patiently wait for Hitman 5 arrive.
