PS Plus Extra and Premium April 2024 games recently went live, and brought with them technical issues that have resulted in games either being locked or inaccessible due to licensing problems. PS Plus Premium classic MediEvil and the entire Ubisoft+ catalog are specifically impacted.
PS Plus Extra and Premium games locked? You’re not the only one
Issues with the Ubisoft+ catalog — which includes popular Assassin’s Creed games — were first reported shortly before April 2024’s lineup went live. For some reason, a large number of subscribers have been locked out of Ubisoft games, as evidenced by a plethora of threads that have popped up on the PlayStation Plus subreddit. The issue was briefly resolved, as we noted previously, but has since returned.
Players have been trying a number of workarounds including restoring licenses, but to no avail. And as we’ve come to expect, Sony’s support isn’t much help. The company itself doesn’t have a policy of commenting on technical issues, so players have no option but to wait it out.
To top it off, Sony’s licensing issues continue to cause headaches. Those who previously owned MediEvil on the PS3 should be able to claim the PS Plus Premium classic for free, but are unable to do so at present. Even if players want to fork out the cash to purchase the game again, they can’t because Sony detects the game in their PS3 library, which makes it unavailable to purchase again.
There’s currently no resolution for MediEvil either. While the problem will be fixed eventually, the wait is understandably frustrating.
