Newly-released Microsoft documents pertaining to the proposed Activision Blizzard deal have given birth to speculations that The Elder Scrolls 6 PS5 release isn’t ruled out after all. The company has never outright denied the possibility of a PS5 release, but did hint that The Elder Scrolls 6 could be an Xbox console exclusive.
Why fans think Microsoft documents may be referencing The Elder Scrolls 6 PS5
As pointed out by Axios’ Stephen Totilo, Microsoft said last week that two upcoming ZeniMax games are set to release on Xbox and PC only. The statement was made as part of an ongoing case regarding the Activision Blizzard deal. Here’s where things get interesting.
In December 2022, Microsoft said that “three future titles” from ZeniMax would release on Xbox and PC only. At the time, the general consensus was that the three titles would be The Elder Scrolls 6, Redfall, and Starfield. But between December and now, the only ZeniMax game that has been released is Hi-Fi Rush, suggesting that it was one of the three games.
So we’re down to two now. Starfield is certainly an Xbox console exclusive and so is Redfall. That leaves us with The Elder Scrolls 6.
Totilo sought clarification from Microsoft but was denied a comment.
