Is Insomniac Games’ Wolverine PS5 Casting Steve Blum?

Insomniac Games-developed Marvel’s Wolverine PS5 may star veteran Wolverine voice actor Steve Blum, speculation suggests. This fan theory stems from a video Blum posted on Instagram a while back.

Why fans think Wolverine PS5 casts Steve Blum

As spotted by TheGamer, TikToker Jack_Whiteman7 found a video Blum posted on Instagram a couple of months ago wearing facial motion capture gear. Calling the video a “throwback” to a project he did, Blum says he worked on a video game that he’s signed a non-disclosure agreement for and thus can’t talk about. He also tagged fellow voice actor Roger Craig Smith.

While casting Blum makes the most sense for a Wolverine project (he most recently voiced Wolverine in Marvel’s Midnight Suns), it’s quite possible that he’s referring to his work on Mortal Kombat 12.

Insomniac’s Wolverine is rumored to be targeting a 2024 release window whereas Mortal Kombat 12 is out later this year, so it’s probably well past the motion capture stage at this point. Considering the video in question is a few months old and is called a “throwback” – indicating that it’s older than the Instagram post itself – it’s least likely to be Wolverine.

That said, it’s entirely possible that Insomniac will tap Blum for the role, if it hasn’t already.
