Infinity Ward has released their Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 update roadmap that confirms the return of seven game modes, including Infected, Hardcore, and Gun Game. Only some of these modes will be available at launch, though, with others being released later on in the season.
Infected, Gun Game, Grind, and Hardcore launch with Modern Warfare 2 Season 2
Four of the seven modes — Infected, Gun Game, Grind, and Hardcore — will launch with Season 2 on February 15. The former three will be party modes whereas Hardcore mode will replace the current Tier 1 playlist. At the start of Season 2, the Hardcore playlist will include a mix of traditional modes and rules combined with a limited HUD and decreased health that can only be replenished with Stim Shots.
Later on in the season, Drop Zone, All or Nothing, and One In The Chamber will also be added to the mix. Finally, the new Ranked Play experience will launch with Season 2. The stand-alone mode uses CDL-approved rules, restrictions, maps, and modes as players work their way through seven Skill Divisions that offer Skins and other rewards, so maybe it’s time to take a look at the recommended DualSense control layout if you’re thinking of getting serious about the mode.
Other new features for Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 include four new multiplayer maps, a new Raid episode, the Walk the Path of the Ronin limited-time event, five new weapons, a new vehicle, a Season 2 Battle Pass, and a new Operator according to the roadmap.
