Skull and Bones Delay

Ubisoft Addresses Skull and Bones Delay, Asks for ‘Understanding and Patience’

Ubisoft has attempted to explain away the latest Skull and Bones delay in a statement on Twitter. This letter is in response to the publisher’s press conference yesterday, where it was revealed that the Skull and Bones release date had been pushed from March 9 to the far more vague “early 2023-24” date. In the statement, the publisher thanks fans for their “ongoing understanding and patience” as it hopes to make the game the best experience possible “from Day 1.”

The new Skull and Bones release date will be announced “very soon”

Ubisoft addresses why it made the decision to delay Skull and Bones “a little more” in the letter posted on Twitter:

Our determination and focus remain the same – offer the best in-game experience possible to our players from Day 1. This extra time will help us in providing further polish and balancing to our game experience, following your feedback from previous tests.

The publisher says that it has “exciting content” on its social channels, including gameplay footage focusing on the game’s lore. It promises to share information on the new release date and upcoming beta test phases soon.

At this point, though, fan patience is wearing thin on Skull and Bones, if there is any left. Going through responses to the statement on Twitter, one user has cancelled a pre-order for the game and another thinks that it is “the Ubisoft version of GTA 6.”
