A blue and white God of War Ragnarok PS5 controller has been revealed near the end of today’s State of Play. This Limited Edition controller has a release date of November 9, 2022, which is the same date for the game. Pre-orders of the controller will start September 27, so it’s likely that it will be made available through PlayStation Direct. Hopefully, you’ll be able to get this controller shipped and on your doorstep on the same day the game releases.
God of War Ragnarok PS5 controller shows off an icy-blue motif
Right before the stunning trailer for the game was shown, revealing more details of the story and the struggle between Kratos and Atreus, the controller was revealed with various zoomed-in shots in the short teaser above. Sony describes this DualSense has having a “unique two-tone design of cool blue on icy white.” The two blue animals on the touchpad, with the larger bear on the right and the smaller wolf to the left, signify Kratos and Atreos in their battle against Fenrir, the monstrous wolf in Norse mythology.
No price was given for this special edition controller, but the base price for the Dualsense wireless controller is currently $69.99, so it shouldn’t be too much more than that. Let’s just hope that this controller isn’t scalped as hard as the Firefly Edition for The Last of Us Part 1.
In other news, Tekken 8 has been announced at State of Play, and EA and Koei Tecmo are creating a AAA hunting game set in fantasy feudal Japan.
