How To Play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Early

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2‘s launch date is rapidly approaching and with it comes the hype of a many CoD fans. While Warzone might be the main attraction right now, the sequel to the impressive Modern Warfare reboot is sure to turn heads during its late October release. For those who don’t want to wait for the October 28 launch, however, Activision is giving eager fans the chance to play the campaign early, provided they follow one crucial instruction.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 campaign early access

To play the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 campaign early, players must pre-order a digital version of the game. For PS5 and PS4 users, this will mean pre-ordering the new CoD through the PlayStation Store.

It doesn’t matter what edition of the game users pre-order, as all editions come bundled with early access to the campaign.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 campaign early access begins on October 20. This means up to a full week of playtime before the game fully launches. This should be long enough to comfortably beat the single-player story and be ready to dig into multiplayer as soon as it lands.

The elephants in the room here are those people who don’t want a digital version of the game. Pre-ordering the physical edition will unfortunately not grant early access to the campaign.

Early access to the campaign may persuade those who were going to buy physical to instead go digital, as the incentive for campaign early access will be tempting for those who want to avoid spoilers and/or get their hands on the new CoD as early as possible.
