According to two known insiders, recent Sony first-party leaks – God of War Ragnarok and The Last of Us 1 Remake leaks, namely – stem from a security breach that Sony has yet to plug. As a result, there may be more leaks in the coming weeks and months. That’s according to XboxEra’s Nick “Shpeshal_Nick” Baker and journalist/insider Jeff Grubb. Baker is the one who recently leaked The Last of Us Part 1 Remake’s gameplay videos, accessibility options, and control scheme alongside screenshots.
What’s going on with God of War Ragnarok and The Last of Us 1 Remake leaks?
Prior to The Last of Us Part 1 Remake’s leaks, God of War Ragnarok’s release information and various special editions were shared by a number of insiders ahead of an official PlayStation Blog post. The Last of Us Part 1’s leaks had people thinking that we’re looking at a case similar to the Part 2 fiasco but not quite.
“Sony may have a little bit of an issue, a security problem,” Baker says in the video above, with Grubb chiming in to agree. Baker added that he’s been getting offers for numerous other Sony first-party leaks and then teased an upcoming God of War Ragnarok leak. Both Grubb and Baker then agree that “someone has gotten a hold of something” at Sony.
One Reddit user pointed towards a months old Reddit thread by a now-deleted user who claimed that someone got a hold of a company laptop with a 100GB drive full of data. That Reddit thread was dismissed by most users at the time but it’s now believed that someone decided to take a risk, download the files, and/or found a way to crack into a server or something.
In other news, a Black Panther game is reportedly in development that we’ll hear more about soon, and Monster Hunter Paradise has been leaked.
