God of War Ragnarok story and gameplay information has been pretty scant but thanks to an update on the official PlayStation website, we have an idea of what to expect from Kratos’ and Atreus’ journey come November. Players will be visiting all nine realms in searh for answers, exploring “stunning” and “mythical” landscapes while battling unique enemies.
God of War Ragnarok story details
An official description (thanks, The Gamer) reads:
Fimbulwinter is well underway. Kratos and Atreus must journey to each of the Nine Realms in search of answers as Asgardian forces prepare for a prophesied battle that will end the world. Along the way they will explore stunning, mythical landscapes, and face fearsome enemies in the form of Norse gods and monsters. The threat of Ragnarök grows ever closer. Kratos and Atreus must choose between their own safety and the safety of the realms.
Atreus seeks knowledge to help him understand the prophecy of Loki and establish his role in Ragnarök. Kratos must decide whether he will be chained by the fear of repeating his mistakes or break free of his past to be the father Atreus needs. Journey through dangerous and stunning landscapes while facing a wide variety of enemy creatures, monsters and Norse gods as Kratos and Atreus search for answers.
Players will be equipped with Leviathan Axe, Blades of Chaos, and Guardian Shield along with new abilities for both Kratos and Atreus. Apparently, Kratos’ spartan skills will be pushed to the limits as he battles gods and monsters across all nine realms to protect his family.
God of War Ragnarok will release on November 9, 2022.
In other news, a judge has dismissed a lawsuit against PlayStation alleging monopolistic control over PS Store game prices, and Ghost of Tsushima has sold nearly 10 million copies on both the PS5 and PS4 since its release two years ago.
