God of War Ragnarok Not Shown

God of War Ragnarok is Not Ready to Be Shown Despite Releasing This Year

Four years ago, God of War was released on Playstation 4. To celebrate the occasion, creator Cory Barlog left a video message for fans. The bad news is that God of War Ragnarok is “just not ready to be shown” at the moment, which is why it has been a while since we’ve heard about the game. The good news is the team still reassures us the game is on track for its current release window.

When will God of War Ragnarok be released?

God of War Ragnarok is still going to be released in 2022 according to Santa Monica Studio’s Animation Director Bruno Velazquez. It’s been several months since fans have seen or heard anything definitive about the game and players were getting worried. Barlog’s message didn’t show us anything new, but at least we got a progress report:

God of War Ragnarok, the elephant in the room. We haven’t said a lot about this. That’s because everybody is heads down, hard at work. We are perfectionists. Everyone’s tightening up the graphics on level three. There is so much going on right now that I just wish that we could share it with you, but it’s just not ready to be shown. But I guarantee you the moment, the very second that we have something that we’re ready to share, we’re going to share it with you because we don’t want to hold any of this back. So please hold tight, know that something cool is coming and that we, everybody here at Santa Monica is so incredibly thankful for all the support that you’ve given us.

In other news, Sony is apparently planning to put adverts in upcoming free-to-play games to help with monetization for the developers. The idea is that this will encourage more developers to enter the booming free-to-play market. Elsewhere, all Uncharted 4 progress was scrapped when Amy Hennig left Naughty Dog, and development was restarted with a brand new voice cast.
