A Plague Tale: Requiem release date may have been outed by none other than the Xbox Store, as discovered by Twitter user Okami13. Microsoft’s storefront is no stranger to leaking release dates and game information ahead of official announcements but we’re taking this one with a grain of salt because there appears to be a typing mistake whereby the page mentions a release date of June 17th, 2021. While 2021 obviously can’t be right, June 17th doesn’t seem far-fetched.
When is A Plague Tale: Requiem release expected?
Asobo Studio and Focus Entertainment have already confirmed a generic release window of 2022. However, what makes the case for June 17th more convincing is that the game’s achievement list has leaked as of two days ago, and as Okami13 pointed out, it’s already available to pre-load on Xbox.

The game is also available for pre-load on Xbox and the achievements were leaked yesterday.

The Xbox Store page is still up with this release date at the time of this writing. Interestingly, A Plague Tale: Requiem was unveiled during Microsoft’s E3 2021 showcase and it wasn’t until later in the day that Focus Entertainment confirmed its release on the PlayStation 5 as well. Considering that the game is available to pre-load on the Xbox, we do wonder if it’ll be out on Microsoft’s platforms and PC before it makes its way to Nintendo Switch and PS5. Stay tuned as we keep our eyes peeled for an official confirmation.
