The long-rumored new Sly Cooper game reportedly isn’t being developed by Sucker Punch Productions. That’s according to known insider Nick Baker, whose claim has been backed up by AccountNGT – another reliable leaker whose recent reports have been bang on the money. Apparently, the studio behind the yet-to-be-announced Sly Cooper is Entwined and Concrete Genie developer, Pixelopus.
New Sly Cooper may have been in development for a while
Last June, PlayStation LifeStyle reported that Pixelopus has been working on a new PS5 game based on Unreal Engine 5 with Sony Pictures Animation. This was confirmed via job opportunities published by the studio at the time. Going by Baker’s tweet, the project the job descriptions were referring to is the new Sly Cooper game.

While we ask our readers to take this with a grain of salt, we’re seeing more and more signs that something is happening with the Sly Cooper IP. Recently, Reddit users found that the franchise’s official domain was updated on March 4th. While this doesn’t confirm anything, it’s curious timing since rumors suggest that a reveal is happening sometime this summer.
Opinion: Pixelopus is a relatively new but talented studio
Zarmena writes… We’ve only really seen two games from Pixelopus, which was set up in 2014 as an in-house Sony studio. While Concrete Genie was its more successful release, both Entwined and Concrete Genie had beautiful, distinct art styles and unique premise. It’s unclear if Pixelopus is responsible for the rumored Sly Cooper’s full development or just its artistic direction but either way, its supposed involvement sounds like good news to me.
In other news, it looks like Roblox is headed to PS4 and PS5 soon, and Dead Space remake is targeting an early 2023 release window.
