No Mans Sky Sentinel Update

No Man’s Sky Sentinel Update Isn’t The Last ‘by a Long Shot’

No Man’s Sky received yet another major update today in the form of Sentinel. The update has added new enemies, a chance to own a friendly AI drone, and has overhauled weapons. Despite this, the game’s creator Sean Murray has said Sentinel is not the final game update “by a long shot”.

No Man’s Sky Sentinel Update 3.8 Patch Notes

The No Man’s Sky Sentinel Update 3.8 is available from today on PS5 and PS4. Giving the update its name is the new sentinel enemies, hardframe battle mechs that come with jetpacks and weapons like flamethrowers, making them formidable foes. To counter this, players have a new cloaking ability and a Minotaur AI Pilot sidekick that will fight alongside you in battle. Other changes include the overhaul of the weapons system and multitools, as well as some visual effects. You can find a full list of changes on the No Man’s Sky website.

Murray later told IGN that the team still has plenty of ideas and features they want to add to the game, and that the team isn’t finished with the game “by a long shot” despite starting work on a brand new title:

As many updates as we’ve done since launch and as many bucket list items we’ve checked off, our list of things we’re excited about never seems to get any shorter. The team are always coming up with new things that they want to do with the game: new content and features and areas for improvement.

I’m amazed that the energy levels are as high now as they’ve ever been. We tend not to talk about what’s on that list publicly but suffice to say we’re not done yet by a long shot.

In other news, BioShock 4 is rumored to be delayed after its developer Cloud Chamber loses 40 staff since the project began. Elsewhere, HBO has confirmed that The Last of Us TV show won’t air until at least 2023 as it is still being shot in Canada.
