In today’s news we didn’t expect to see, an Until Dawn next-gen remake is reportedly in the works. This report comes from Twitter user AccountNGT, who’s quickly made a name for themselves for their accurate leaks and reports. The insider claims that they’ve known about Until Dawn’s remake since December but wanted to vet the information before sharing it. Nevertheless, this is an odd one for sure.
What platforms is Until Dawn remake in development for?
According to AccountNGT, Supermassive Games is remaking Until Dawn for next-gen consoles. We’re not sure if the leaker mistakenly wrote “consoles” or if they genuine meant that. They haven’t clarified their tweet despite followers pointing out that Sony Interactive Entertainment owns the Until Dawn IP. If AccountNGT didn’t make a typo, then this could mean one of two things: Until Dawn’s remake is headed to PS5 and PSVR 2, or Supermassive Games has bought the rights from Sony and has planned a multiplatform release. The latter isn’t outside the realm of possibility as this was the case with Remedy Entertainment’s Alan Wake and Q-Games’ The Tomorrow Children.
From what I’ve heard from several separate sources, in addition to their new games, Supermassive Games is reportedly working on a remake of Until Dawn for some time that will be coming to current-gen consoles. I will try to find out more about this potential project. pic.twitter.com/6G31UwA4ns

Opinion: I loved Until Dawn but not sure what’s there to remake
Zarmena writes… Until Dawn is one of those few horror games that my wimpy self could handle, and I quite enjoyed it. But I am not quite sure what purpose a remaster would serve, if the report is true. Until Dawn wasn’t anything to write home about, but perhaps Supermassive Games has something big planned for the IP and wants to test the waters with a multiplatform release.
