Medieval strategy game Crusader Kings 3 finally gets a release date for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The game will release for next-gen consoles on March 29, 2022, and will include changes to UI and control scheme specifically for consoles. Additionally, the PS5 version will come with DualSense features, such as adaptive triggers based on your character’s stress levels. Pre-orders for the game are currently open on the PlayStation Store.
Crusader Kings 3 is adapted for the next generation of consoles
Make no mistake, this isn’t your average console port. Originally a PC series, Crusader Kings is known for having a significant amount of UI elements and clicking through menus. Normally, this would be a major problem for those playing on the controller rather than mouse and keyboard. Thankfully, the developers at Lab42 were able to come up with various solutions, such as an adapted interface and a new Control Map scheme. This allows players to quickly access menus through joystick flicks and bumper presses.
Furthermore, the DualSense controller will react to your player character’s mental condition. If they’re under stress, the adaptive triggers will make it harder for users to press buttons. The controller will also react to the events of the game. Additionally, players will also be able to switch between different applications such as YouTube using the Quick Resume feature.
