Call of Duty Dev Treyarch Breaks Silence on Activision Blizzard Allegations, Says There’s ‘No Room’ for Misconduct

Call of Duty developer Treyarch Studios has finally broken its silence on the ongoing Activision Blizzard allegations, which have spurred high-profile lawsuits and departures, stating that it has “no room” for any kind of workplace misconduct.

Worth pointing out that the harrowing allegations that surfaced earlier this year, and continue to come up, cover the entire company and includes allegations against Treyarch’s own management as well. However, individual studios have refrained from commenting on the fiasco thus far, with official statements mostly coming through CEO Bobby Kotick’s PR machine.

In a statement released on Twitter, Treyarch said that all it wants to do is make video games for people to enjoy, and will not tolerate sexism, harassment, racism, bigotry, discrimination, or bullying of any kind. Going forward, the developer will endeavor to create an inclusive, safe, and healthy environment for its employees.

The full statement reads:

Our goal as a studio is to make awesome games for the world to enjoy. Having the privilege to pursue the endeavor is made possible because of Treyarch’s people: we are a studio comprised of smart, talented, world-class creative professionals who seek to perform at our best. Our culture has no room for sexism, harassment, racism, bigotry, discrimination, or bullying. As we move forward, providing a safe, diverse, inclusive working environment so that all may thrive will be our highest priority. Everyone at Treyarch is drawn to game development because we possess a deep love for the artistry of video games and the magic that can create moments that matter. This is a moment that matters and it starts by being better.

Here’s hoping Treyarch comes through on its promise.
