Tomorrow Children Return

The Tomorrow Children Now in the Hands of Q-Games After ‘Historical Move’ by Sony, Will Return in the Future

The Tomorrow Children, the free-to-play PlayStation 4 game developed by Q-Games, will be returning in the future. In what has been described as a “historical move by Sony Interactive Entertainment”, Q-Games has gained the IP rights to the game from Sony and will be rebuilding the game ready for its re-release.

The game was first released on PlayStation 4 back in 2016 before changing to a free-to-play model complete with new content. Set in a minimalist, post-apocalyptic, neo-soviet world called The Void, the online co-op title featured a handful of survivors who wanted to take back humanity by growing the population and building towns. These wooden doll-like projection clones could head into The Void to mine resources and search for trapped human souls that masqueraded as Matryoshka dolls. Unfortunately their efforts were hampered by giant beasts known as the Izverg.

Despite having “a large number of fans” across the world, each of which had managed to clock up hundreds of hours in the game, The Tomorrow Children‘s servers were closed just over a year later. Q-Games is now looking to rebuild the game so they can “bring it back to its loving fans”. Those who want regular updates on how this is going can sign up to the Postcards From the Void newsletter. For now, Q-Games’ CEO and Founder Dylan Cuthbert had a message for players:

I’d like to thank first and foremost the fans of The Tomorrow Children, without whom, I would never have had the confidence to keep pursuing this deal. Our fans are some of the most amazing gamers out there, and every day for the past four years they have kept the dream alive. I think the happiest thing about this decision is imagining the enjoyment those fans will feel as they re-enter the crazy post-apocalyptic neo-soviet world of The Tomorrow Children.

Secondly I’d like to thank Sony Interactive Entertainment for also working with me to have the IP returned to Q-Games. It has taken a concerted effort by all of us to get to this ultimate step, and I’m full of gratitude to everyone involved in the process. I am now tweaking and re-working parts of the game every week, and I hope everyone follows along and gets involved in this process.

We plan to make quite a few changes for the better, and give The Tomorrow Children the re-launch it deserves!

Come watch the fun!
