So far, all we’ve seen of the Dead Space remake coming from EA Motive is a sinister teaser that promises to capture the chills of the original game, but the developer is finally lifting the lid to show an “early development build” of the upcoming next-gen rework. On August 31 at 10:00 am PT / 1:00 pm ET, Motive will take to Twitch to talk about Dead Space, including Senior Producer Philippe Ducharme and Creative Director Roman Campos-Oriola each talking about their vision for the title. The stream will also include “some special guests from the Dead Space Community Council,” a group of dedicated Dead Space fans who have been consulting on the project to help it retain its authenticity to the original.

Perhaps most exciting about the stream is the opportunity to see the early development build, which Motive stresses isn’t final. It’s simply intended to show off the developer’s vision, as well as illustrate what a new-gen Dead Space title can look like as the studio recaptures the classic scares with modern technology.
It’s important to note that the build that will be shown in the livestream is an early prototype of the game and not final in any capacity; it is meant to illustrate Motive’s vision of Dead Space in motion for the community.
The Dead Space remake was announced at EA Play Live back in July after numerous rumors and leaks about the title. While Motive hasn’t shown any more than a brief teaser yet, they have talked a lot about what the game will entail. We know that it won’t include microtransactions, and that its aim is to be a seamless experience with no loading. Rumors say that the title won’t arrive until late 2022 at the earliest, and likely even later than that if the current trend of game delays keeps up into the next few years.
