The new studio definitely looks sleek and state-of-the-art. It includes references from throughout Ready at Dawn’s history, featuring characters from all of the developer’s titles, from The Order: 1886 to the Wii port of Ōkami.
Though it’s recently focused its efforts on the Oculus platform, Ready at Dawn had been heavily associated with PlayStation. The developer worked on both God of War Games for the PlayStation portable: Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta. Its most high-profile title may be The Order: 1886.
Ready at Dawn has been in the news lately, though not by its own volition. The developer has been open before on how it originally envisioned The Order: 1886 as the beginning of a franchise. Word on a potential sequel reignited after a writer at Sucker Punch “confirmed” a sequel was in development. He later recanted that confirmation, though it certainly proved the desire for a sequel is there.
A sequel to The Order: 1886 has not been confirmed in any form thus far. That call is ultimately up to Sony, which owns the IP. For what it’s worth, we think the franchise deserves another shot. The only project we know is on the pipeline is a sequel to the VR-only Lone Echo. However, Ready at Dawn has some sort of AAA project in the works, though what it is is unknown. With a new studio open, it certainly looks like something big is coming. We’ll just have to wait and see what it is.
