With a virus infecting just about everyone in Raccoon City, the last thing on people’s minds is how they look. But it’s definitely the first thing I notice. Sure Claire and Leon are objectively attractive, but do their different costumes do themselves justice? How does the pair stack up against the other characters we come across? Usually, at PlayStation LifeStyle, our in-game outfit rankings consider lore, function, and looks, but I’m keeping things shallow for this one.
Here’s every look in Resident Evil 2 ranked from least to most hot. Please note that, in this case, I’m separating the characters from the outfits. This list is not to suggest that a piece of Tofu is more physically attractive than a human being.
The only characters who are not included are Marvin, Chief Irons, and Sherry. The first two are essentially in uniform, so there’s not much to discuss there, and Sherry is literally a child and will thus not be objectified to any capacity for the sake of this list.

16. Leon (Arklay Sheriff Costume)
This outfit simultaneously makes Leon look like an uptight, by the book cop and someone who is problematically crooked. Conveying those opposites at once isn't easy to do, nor is it cute. The fact that this is just a uniform also makes it extremely impersonal. Leon looks more like a NPC who is killed during a dramatic cutscene than our lead character. Ut is definitely the least attractive of all the looks.

15. Claire (Military Outfit)
From the neck down, this is a pretty badass look. It's refreshing to see Claire, who's just a civilian, decked out in military garb. But what really causes this to be towards the bottom of the hotness list is the bandana. It's ugly; it's unnecessary. In Claire's defense, I don't think anyone could pull this off, but that's also why no one should be wearing it.

14. Leon (Classic Costume)
I'm being harsh on this one. To be honest, it's a strong look, but it does nothing to set itself apart from any other outfit. This is a worse version of Leon's default costume, so there is absolutely no reason to put this on other than for the nostalgia.

13. Ada Wong (Dress)
While I'm not a fan of ribbed dresses, there's no denying that they're great for creating a flattering figure. Unfortunately, this look is ruined by an ill-fitting bra and an awkward cami trying to salvage the outfit. None of us want to buy a new bra for one dress, but Ada really needed to. From the back though, you forget how bad the dress is so not all is lost.

12. Claire (Noir)
This does nothing for me. It just looks pretentious. Or like Claire is part of a community musical (no offense to the local arts). Maybe Fedoras just have an inescapably negative quality, but I'm not a fan.

11. William Birkin
The perfect blend of fashion and function, Birkin's straight-leg pants fit well and have some stylish distressing on the side. Don't tell me those perfect slashes are from a scuffle, we know it's totally intentional. The torn lab coat off the left shoulder is a stylish reminder of his former humanity.

10. Tofu
A little goes a long way, and accessories can really make an outfit. At the end of the day, this is just a block of tofu but the hat adds personality.

9. Mr. X
I have to admit, Mr. X isn't doing much here, but a good coat can be a whole outfit. He's wearing it through the entire game, so it doesn't matter if the outfit underneath is wack. He looks good the whole time. Also, those heavy boots are iconic.

8. Annette Birkin
Simple, clean, classic. Annette Birkin may have made some questionable moral choices, but the scoop neck grey top with the lab coat is cute and casual. Similarly, her ponytail is likely a practical choice (for her lab work), but turning it to the side adds some nice angles.

7. Claire (Classic Costume)
I get cold just looking at this. The black spanx (or unitard) peaking out underneath is a bit awkward, but I understand her desire to not have half her ass hanging out from the bottom of her shorts. This outfit is pretty simple, but the Made in Heaven detailing on the back makes it a really cute look.

6. Leon (Regular Outfit)
It's still police garb, but the slim fit highlights Leon's figure well. Plus the material is pretty sleek and the grey sleeves help visually break up the outfit.

5. Hunk
This outfit is doing the most and is pretty bulky, but it's so badass none of that matters. Seriously, who doesn't look good in a gas mask?

4. Claire Elza
It's pretty out of place within the police station and sewers, but motorcycles are hot and so is this outfit. The slight padding on the shoulders makes Claire look even stronger. When done right, sponsorship labels can look really good. In this case, they add some subtle flair. The strategic use of color/fabric creates some flattering lines for Claire as well. It's sexy without being sleazy and unrealistic.

3. Claire (Standard Outfit)
I would die for Claire's red jacket. Even though the rest of the outfit is pretty simple, it's the jacket that pulls it all together. The feather necklace and fabric bracelets help create extra lines and fun details. This is a great example of a simple outfit transformed into a well thought out look.

2. Leon (Noir)
Damn. Okay, Leon. I see you slicking back your hair with that pomade. The form fitting cut, the slightly loosened tie, the rolled up sleeves—everything about this outfit is formal, yet playful. Love it.

1. Ada Wong (Trench Coat)
I know coats are sort of cop outs, but damn. This trench coat is powerful, especially when paired with those high heels and sunglasses. This look conveys power and style all at once. Ada is a mysterious badass in this outfit, and it doesn't get much hotter than that.
