Despite everything that has already been released for Marvel’s Spider-Man after its original launch date, the party isn’t over yet. During a special Fantastic Four-themed live stream from Marvel Games, we got one of those “announcement of an announcement” teases right at the end. So let the speculation commence, as the possibilities are many.
The live stream was the first part of Marvel’s “Fantastic Four: World’s Greatest Week” event, which will be running through January 16, 2019. In 2018, the Fantastic Four returned to Marvel Comics after a long absence, and this live stream was all about the team’s return to the Marvel Games brand. Of course, most of the stream was about various mobile games, but the massively successful PlayStation 4 title served as the cherry on top at the end. You can check out the whole stream for yourself below:
It’s still early in the week, so who knows when we’ll actually learn what’s coming to Marvel’s Spider-Man. The easy bet is one or more new alternate costumes for Spidey, as he has a long history with the Fantastic Four, and multiple costumes associated with them (that have appeared in other games as well). I’m referring to the comical Bombastic Bagman getup, as well as the more recent Future Foundation suit. Other fans have suggested the Baxter Building could be added to the game’s New York City, which would also make sense considering both Avengers Tower and Dr. Strange’s Sanctum Santorum are a coupe of fun (if not hard to miss) Easter eggs.

Marvel's Spider-Man Easter Eggs
Let's run down a few Easter Eggs in Marvel's Spider-Man. There are no story spoilers here, but if you want to play the game with absolutely no knowledge beforehand, turn back now!
-
Sanctum Sanctorum
Doctor Strange’s residence and study can be found in Greenwich. Upon discovery, Peter remarks: "Cool window, but I always get the feeling that something Strange is going on in that place"
-
Suit Up
All of Spider-Man’s suits are an homage or reference to his decades of lore. From Spider-Man 2099’s purple suit and Ben Reilly’s hoodie to the Stealth Suit used in the “Big Time” story arc, fans are likely to grow attached to their favorite memorable style.
-
Wakanda and Symkarian Embassies
These are the embassies for the home countries of Black Panther and Silver Sable, respectively. One of these characters plays a role later in the story, actually!
-
Alias Investigations
Alias Investigations is the detective agency run by Jessica Jones. That should all sound pretty familiar to anyone who’s binged some Marvel Netflix shows lately.
-
Backpackin' It
The knick-knacks found in backpacks are mostly gentle nods at classic Spidey moments. Items like a broken Rhino horn or a vial of Lizard’s blood give further insight to this world’s storied past.
-
Josie's Bar
Josie’s Bar will also seem familiar to astute Netflix viewers. It’s a somewhat shady bar where thugs and criminals often hang out, meaning Matt Murdock keeps tabs on it. The bar has no real significance in Spidey lore, but Peter and Matt live in the same city, leading to a few Easter Eggs on this list.
-
Empire State University
ESU is the fictional college that Peter attended in the comics and in this canon. You’ll actually come here quite a few times for missions and side activities.
-
Fogwell's Gym
Appearing recently in Netflix’s Daredevil series, Fogwell’s Gym is where Jack Murdock practiced for upcoming boxing bouts. Of course, Jack Murdock is the father of Matt Murdock, Daredevil himself.
-
Midtown High School
When Miles Morales pops up in Marvel’s Spider-Man, he wears a Midtown High School tee. Looks like he attends the same school Peter once did! This isn't the case in the comics, but is one of many similarities the game sets up between the two.
-
The Bar With No Name
Though it’s an obscure reference, the Bar With No Name has popped up in Spidey comics through the years, as well as Daredevil and Captain America stories. It’s usually depicted as a regular bar where villains and criminals meet up, and there are a few spread across the world.
-
Avengers Tower
The renovated Stark / Avengers Tower is in the north-eastern end of NYC. You earn a trophy for climbing to the top, where you’ll also find a backpack.

Happy Halloween
I won’t (and can’t) say much here. But at one point in the story, Peter is tasked with visiting a Halloween party at ESU. Keep your eyes peeled, look through all the costumes, and listen for any unruly guests. Most Spidey fans will find characters they recognize, while some may notice an obscurely familiar face from the real world.
