Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice Is Getting Physical

Ninja Theory’s Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice made waves when it released in August 2018. Its unflinching look at mental illness has won it fans from all over, making it a success. However, if fans want the game in a more tangible form, you’re in luck! 505 Games has just announced that it will be releasing Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice in physically for the PlayStation 4 starting on December 4, 2018.

Check out the announcement trailer here:

While the retail version is coming to both the PS4 and Xbox One, 505 is only publishing the PS4 version. Microsoft, which recently acquired Ninja Theory, will be publishing the Xbox One version.

If you’ve never heard of Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, it centers on a Celtic warrior Senua who must travel through the world of Norse mythology to save her dead lover. The whole time, she must combat her inner demons, facing threats both real and in her mind.

Immediately following its release, Hellblade became a critical darling. It swept up awards from organizations like BAFTA and the Writer’s Guild for its writing and performance from lead Melina Juergens. In our review, we called it “stellar” and praised its full dive into the struggles of mental illness.
