PlayStation’s official YouTube channel has updated with a new trailer of sorts for the upcoming Capcom remaster, Onimusha: Warlords. This trailer is a quick montage of gameplay, showing the gritty, old action of Onimusha with its slight visual upgrade, new soundtrack and voice acting, and updated resolution.
While Capcom has already confirmed a new, alternative control scheme for Onimusha: Warlords, the footage in the trailer appears to be sticking to the original controls, which are the infamous “tank” style that was used in games such as Resident Evil and Tomb Raider. As you can see in the trailer, Onimusha did contain a bit more in the way of mobility options (strafing, backflips, etc.) since it’s so combat-heavy. Still, it’s a good refresher for those familiar with the original game.
We also see protagonist Samanosuke use a few different weapons, showing off the elemental special abilities associated with each, along with the very different style brought to the table with Kaede. She can get behind enemies and take them out in a single hit if the player can successfully set that up.
Onimusha: Warlords is set to launch on January 15, 2019 for the PlayStation 4, the Xnox One, the Nintendo Switch, and the PC.
