Aksys Games Is Donating Little Dragon’s Cafe Proceeds to Extra Life

Aksys Games announced that it will be participating in the 2018 Extra Life campaign, which is an effort to raise money for hospitals in the Children’s Miracle Network through video game-themed events like streaming marathons. To this end, Aksys Games announced that $10,000 of the profits from Little Dragon’s Café will be donated to Extra Life.

A press release for this announcement contains the following quote from Aksys Games CEO Akibo Shieh:

In Little Dragons Café, the twins are working with a ragtag group of friends to save their mother from a mysterious illness. We wanted to partner with Extra Life because their campaign to mobilize the gaming industry to work together has raised millions of dollars in the past 10 years for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and helped to heal thousands of kids.

As an aside, Aksys Games also noted that its Little Dragons Café Augmented Reality-based mobile app, which is free on both Android and iOS, has been updated. Players are now able to take selfies with the titular dragon, and Aksys states further support for the app is on the way.

If you’re curious about participating in Extra Life, you can check out the event’s website right here. Participants pledge to play games for twenty-four hours (generally streaming) and can set up an individual fundraiser that goes towards the overall pool at the end.
