The Missing Release Date

The Missing, Fittingly, Releases This October

We’ve slowly been getting more and more information about Hidetaka “Swery” Suehiro’s White Owls and Arc System works’ upcoming game, The MISSING: J.J Macfield and the Island of Memories, and now we finally a release date. This twisted puzzle platformer will release on October 11, 2018 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

The game’s main shtick is that the main character, J.J cannot die; no one on the nightmarish island can. In the trailer, we see her undergo extreme injuries, from being engulfed in flames to being decapitated, but she still continues on her quest to find her friend. Even if that means dragging her mangled limbs around, she will not be stopped.

Injuring yourself actually becomes part of the puzzle solving. The MISSING: J.J Macfield and the Island of Memories‘ official website mentions that you may need to “use pieces of J.J.’s disjointed body in order to progress.” With this in mind, it’s crucial that you “keep an eye out on your surroundings and think about how to use that to your advantage.”

While this is a quest about finding Emily, you’re also working to uncover the mysteries of the Island of Memories. It seems like the perfect level of unsettling, just in time for Halloween 2018.

Will you be tearing yourself apart when The MISSING: J.J Macfield and the Island of Memories releases on October 11, 2018 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC? Toss in a comment down below.
