Real Screenshot or Fake Episode 3: Miko Gakkou Monogatari: Kaede Episode

The truth has been revealed! In the first part of the third episode of “Real or Fake?”, I tried to convince you all that a PlayStation 4 life simulation about shrine maidens existed. I was telling the truth! Both of those screenshots were taken from Miko Gakkou Monogatari: Kaede Episode, which is available on the PlayStation 4 right now!

In Miko Gakkou Monogatari: Kaede Episode, players follow a young shrine maiden named Kaede. They travel around her home and interact with other characters, shaping the course of her destiny. There are six possible endings available and, even though it looks like a budget title, it has full Japanese voice acting!

Xinoro’s Miko Gakkou series has a bit of a tragic history on PlayStation platforms. Miko Gakkou Monogatari: Sanae Episode was available via PlayStation Mobile in English before it headed to the PlayStation 4 and PC. That meant Vita owners had a chance to follow in Kaede’s footsteps ahead of anyone else. Unfortunately, the death of PlayStation Mobile means one version is lost forever.

It gets worse for Miko GakkouMiko Gakkou Monogatari: Sanae Episode was only available via PlayStation Mobile in English. Miko Gakkou: Second Year was also a PlayStation Mobile game, but the end of that service means people can only play it in English on PCs.

In case you missed them, check out the our past” Real or Fake?” installments. In one, I suggest it was possible to become a limo driver on the PS4. In another, we met Nosey Nose.
