Ubisoft’s cross-country racing game, The Crew 2, is getting its first major update: Gator Rush. Better yet, the Gator Rush expansion will be free for everyone! You’ll be able to conquer the swamps of the Deep South with an all-new discipline and difficulty mode. The update is coming September 26, 2018 to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
True to its name, Gator Rush will allow racers to explore the murky bayous of the American South. Gator Rush will bring the addition of hovercrafts as a discipline for drivers to master. Hovercrafts introduce a totally new style of play, allowing you to take on any terrain in your way.
Ubisoft also dropped a new trailer for Gator Rush, highlighting the most significant additions:
Bayous aren’t the only terrain change coming to The Crew 2. Other locales will be tweaked with features like “steep slopes and banked curves.” Gator Rush will also bring a brand-new difficulty setting—Ace mode—which will reward players with legendary loot. Of course, as expected, new vehicles, skills, and events are all part of the update as well.
Two vehicles, the Ariel Nomad and XK Armored, will only be available to season pass owners when Gator Rush launches on September 26th. They will be available to everyone else a week later, on October 3rd.
Gator Rush is part of an extensive post-launch plan for The Crew 2. Free updates are planned every three months, with the next one is set for December 2018. That update will also include another new discipline, a new PvP mode, and more. The Crew 2 is available now for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
