Ubisoft and Daddy Yankee Team Up for Puerto Rico Relief Efforts

Just Dance developer Ubisoft is teaming up with Puerto Rican singer Daddy Yankee (Ramón Ayala Rodríguez), who is best known for popularizing Reggaetón via songs like “Gasolina” and “Despacito,” in order to raise money for Puerto Rico relief efforts. The French developer will be donating $50,000 to “local charities who are providing on-site aid for the much needed relief efforts.” It’s a great act of kindness in a time where it’s greatly needed due to government failure.

Here’s more from Ubisoft on how the French game publisher and Daddy Yankee are coming together to provide Puerto Rico relief help:

“In light of the recent devastation caused by Hurricane Maria and as part of their long-lasting Just Dance partnership with musician Daddy Yankee, Ubisoft has decided to support his contribution to Puerto Rico reconstruction, by donating $50,000 to local charities who are providing on-site aid for the much needed relief efforts.

Since the very first days following Hurricane Maria, musician Daddy Yankee has been helping residents of his native Puerto Rico by making life saving donations, giving his time on-site and raising awareness on this natural and human tragedy. Ubisoft was particularly touched by his engagement and will support him with a donation.”

This is certainly an incredible gesture by Ubisoft, and Daddy Yankee’s ongoing support for Puerto Rico should be celebrated. If you want to donate yourself, check out the United for Puerto Rico website. They’ll also be holding a telethon on Sunday, December 10, 2017 to raise donations.

Just Dance 2018 is available now.
